..THE CHANGES IN THE FINAL PIECE..

The reason why i mainly took a music video in for the final was that i mainly like music and that really wanted to do one but with the not enough support around me and embarrassment i had to take it as a no. So i changed it to a sports video hoping i would be able to take it all the way but my last thought was that it had to be something relative to both music and entertainment. So i decided to do a video where i too could be a faf'afine in it and also making not only the viewer but myself more comfortable and unpredictable as well.

..RESEARCH..

I found these dances and decided to use it for research. The reason? well the reason is because it is mainly entertainment for most islanders seeing men dress up as ladies and perform like ladies. It also brings in a good laugh and knowing that your the person doing it will not embarrass you.

SOULJAH PIKZ PRODUKTIONZ

..FINAL PIECE..

I like this piece here since it does show more comedy and makes the viewer more comfortable along with bits of the experiments. Although i do like this one better and i think that this was the best choice for it as well. The main concept of the video was to make the viewer believe that they are being invited into a mysterious world of what entertainment may give to any viewer.

..EVALUATION..
What i don't like about the video is that there were not much camera techniques used but more effects used instead. I also think that a tripod would've worked better as well.

What i do like about the video is that it does have a longer length and different effects in it but i also like is using the handheld technique for the videos since if it were still i would not be able to feel the feeling in it.

..2nd EXPERIMENT..

..2nd EXPERIMENT..

..MOVEMENTZ SHOWN IN THIS VIDEO..

  • 3D Spin which is used at the end of the intro.

  • The DJ which comes out of nowhere and does a scratch on a invisible DJ table which is a Rhythmic Relationship.
  • Black fade at the end of the dancing scene, at the end of the creditz, another one into the company.
  • A cross fade into each of the creditz.
  • And finally a Film dissolve out of the company at the very end.

  • ..EFFECTZ SHOWN IN THIS VIDEO..

  • The Dream style effect shown in the box and maps.
  • Black fade effect used when the dancer comes in.
  • Different font and colours used for both the intro and the creditz.
  • The Dream style effect used for the creditz.
  • The picture of the company at the very end.
  • Part of the Samoan haka used against Tonga in 2015 just before the the last picture comez up.
  • Countdown voice over after the intro.
  • Countdown pictures after the intro.
  • The music used for the dancing sequence
  • Part of a Samoan song used for the zooming in of the box and maps.

  • ..EVALUATION..
What i tried in this 2nd experiment was to make the audience feel more comfortable but i haven't done that yet.
What i did like about this video was the effectz used on the intro and creditz along with the company and abit of the samoan haka at the end.

    ..1st EXPERIMENT..

    ..1st EXPERIMENT..

    ..MOVEMENTZ SHOWN IN THIS VIDEO..
    • The zooming into the box and out of the shape of an 3 squared maps which is Graphic Match/relationship
    • The DJ which comes out of nowhere and does a scratch on a invisible DJ table which is a Rhythmic Relationship
    • And finally the dancing scene with the camera rotating around the dancer which is a Handheld Camera movement

    ..EFFECTZ SHOWN IN THIS VIDEO..
    • The Dream style effect shown in the box and maps.
    • Black fade effect used when the dancer comes in and at the end.

    ..EVALUATION..
What i tried to do in this video was to make the watcher feel invited into the actual world they see and wonder what mystery is about to happen at the start. When they see a DJ doing his scratch it makes the viewer know immediately that the video is not a adventure video but something to do with music. When the dancer comes in thats when you also know that the video also has something to do with comedy as well.

What I did like though was the countdown and pictures that went with it, the Samoan music that was added when the zooming into the box and maps and the DJ his scratch and the music that went with the dancing.

What i didn't like about it was that there were no credits or introduction to the video and that the video was still short.

CHOSEN VIDEO OFF THE LIST GIVEN (LENZ BASED)

The reason why I like Candice Stock's video is because of the props, costumes and the background used in the video has been blended in with the song and it also makes you think of what the theme, concept and idea maybe.

    ..MICHAEL JACKSON-THRILLER..
The reason why I like this video is that through out the whole video there is always a type of camera angle there and also a chase scene which makes the whole video look like an actual movie.

    MICHAEL LAGMAN

I like Michael Lagmans' work because he has taken photos where it includes the culture and traditions of not one but many pacific cultures.

I really like Cindy Sherman's work because of the feeling in black and white makes it more emotional or gives it more life.

    Untitled Film Still #3, 1978

In this picture for example it gives the viewer a feeling that she has hatred or disgust in her eyes whilst staring in a certain direction.

    SELF PORTRAIT CHOSEN PIKZ-LENZ BASED

"THE CHALLENGE IS 2 CHOOSE WHICH PATH YOUR DESTINY TAKES YOU...NOT WHICH DESTINY YOUR PATH WILL TAKE YOU"-SOULZ TALOSAGA

"I AM A SOULJAH, I CHOOSE 2 FIGHT THE WAYZ OF CHOICE"-SOULZ TALOSAGA

What I like about these two portraits is that they both have a sense of hope, faith and inspiration towards the person who views it. I also chose to go with the bottom portrait because of its strength in not only the meaning but the gesture/pose up against the poster/flag of 2pac. 2pac having lots of inspirational music and poetry gave me the idea to come up with a quote that could or would represent something in my life and I did. With the top portrait I was a bit disappointed because of the wrist band I was wearing didn't fit within the theme of the picture. So if I did a second picture of the top portrait I would take the wrist band off and keep everything the same. With the bottom portrait I like how there is shade on my back but I think I would prefer to have the shade covering not only my back but the background as well apart from that I really think it is very strong and inspirational and wouldn't change anything apart from the shade.

    EXPERMENT 2-SELF PORTRAIT-LENZ BASED

    ..EXPERIMENTATION..
    ..LENZ BASED..
    • Black and white (WB)
    • Black Lavalava covering the light
    • Taken in my bedroom
    • Poster flag of Tupac in the background
    • All photos based on upper body
    • Change of clothes and wearing no shirt

In this photo I tried making the room dark but it didn't work well.

In this photo I tried putting in some light even though it's still in black and white balance.

In this photo I tried representing my tattoo as a sign of hope.

This photo is based in the centre with folded hands behind my back.

This photo is one of my favourites because even though I'm looking above I still placed myself looking at Tupac, his name and the words "His music lives on" and it also shows my west side tattoo even though it represents western samoa it could be used as a sign for west side.

This photo is also one of my favourites because of the facials, shirt, necklace and pose with the hat (I also haven't worn one in a long time) makes me look more of the hip hop/gangster scene.

This photo was a try out when Tupac looked to his right side.

My last favourite photo where I tried to have the camera looking up at my upper body with no shirt but I still need to have more tattoos as well.

PHOTOGRAPHY WORK WITH TUPAC SHAKUR-DANNY CLINCH (BUILDING IMAGES)

    ..DANNY CLINCH..

    LAID BARE

“There’s a session that everybody always asks me about with Tupac Shakur in 1993. I shot a lot of hip hop back in the day and there was always a really big entourage if you were doing an album packaging or editorial. It was always a lot of people – way more than necessary.
“Then I got the assignment from Rolling Stone to shoot Tupac. And I was excited about it, really excited about getting a Rolling Stone shoot. Even though they told me the photo was only going to run over a quarter-page, I was envisioning a Rolling Stone cover. At the time, I was not only doing really loose, documentary-style photography I had also taken this old 4×5 camera, which is a very slow portrait-style camera. So I decided to really concentrate on that.
“So Tupac shows up – with just one guy. And he was really excited about being photographed. He was really professional. He showed up on time, ready to go, and had bought a couple of different shirts and a Thug Life jacket. We got started shooting a few photographs. He was really intrigued by this big old-view camera where you put the hood over your head and you get in there. It’s a slow process. He was super photogenic and the camera loved him.
“At one point he said, ‘Let me change it up,’ and he took his shirt off and you could see all his tattoos – the Thug Life tattoo and the scars on his chest. I don’t think I would have ever asked him to take off his shirt. Collaboration can be a small part of a session, but it can really make a big difference, and he was really into it. So we started to shoot with the shirt off, which for me, became the epic photo. They ran the photo as a quarter-page. Then three years later, he’s killed and that photo wound up on the cover of Rolling Stone.”
